Read Mine First

 One theme from Fredrick Douglas’s biography was the theme of hopelessness. This theme is very prevalent in this book because Douglas is a slave and at that time most slaves stayed enslaved for life. Another thing is that he has no family which can only enforce the hopelessness that Fredrick Douglas must have felt.
