Hey everybody, everybody! If you haven’t noticed i like to do animation. And in todays post I’m going to write about it. Now the animation i use is called Pivot. It’s the simplest animation software out their and its entirely free. The way Pivot works is that you move the figures limbs or the figure itself frame by frame. 700 frames is roughly a 30 second movie. Now, using a cool function you can also create your own figures, such as a stick or ball. Then its the simple task of moving the stick/ball in accordance with the stick figure’s body and viola! You have a stick figure playing baseball.
Now, to get a background for your figures to act on you need to make or get a background and then use the edit background button that Pivot supplies you with. This way you could make your stick figures move in any different scenario or place. Also, you have the ability to change your characters different colors and also change the thickness and size of the figure. This can be useful for a bigger scene involving 6-10 characters.
The reason that i make these animations is usually because I’m stressed out, bored or just have a lot of time on my hands. Being that a thirty second animation takes about an hour and a half i don’t usually do these with my free time. However doing the animations relaxes me and can almost get me into a Zen-like state of mind. Also, in my opinion, the best part is really to have people enjoy your animations and give you compliments on your work.
Well that’s my post for the day, if your interested in downloading Pivot software please click Here.
