Well today i went to my very first high school pep rally. Coincidentally this afternoon marks the beginning of a little something known as “Freshman Hell Week”. Fun. So today’s post is about two things, that is, my Pep Rally and the prospect of having two thousand kids simultaneously trying to beat on you. First off, the Pep Rally. What happened was basically sitting in bleachers on a humid day while rain clouds gathered in the sky. Then we had to cheer for our school, this is definitely a negative thing because the majority of the school will be harassing you for the next week….and your cheering….for those people….that will hurt you…… Anyway, then all the various spots teams came out….and each section of grades had to cheer. This is about how it went.
Announcer Dude: “Let me hear the Seniors!!!!!
Seniors: RAAAHAHAHAHAAAAHAAHAAAA!!!!!
Announcer Dude: ” Let me hear the Juniors!!!!
Juniors: RaaAAAhhhaHAHAhaHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!
Announcer Dude: “Let me hear the Sophomores!!!!
Sophomores: RAAAA….raaa…ra…ra..ra………..ra………….ha…
Announcer Dude: “Let me hear the FRESHMAN!!!!!!!!!
Freshmans: ………ra?….wooo!………ra?
Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores: boooooooooooBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOBOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Freshmans: oh crap.
Then it was over. And i went to my guitar lesson and planned how i will get through this next week.
On the plus side I’m learning some new songs in Guitar lessons. Here’s three I have been working on:
“Pork and Beans” by Weezer
“Holiday” by Green Day
“Wake Me Up When Spetember Ends” by Green Day
Thats all for now,

Hello, hello, hello readers! As I’ve mentioned before i play the (alto) saxophone as well as the guitar. I started when i was in fourth grade and have now played it for five years and counting, this will be my sixth. I have played in concert band for all five of these years and also last year, and now this year have played in a jazz band.
Playing the saxophone is much different than playing guitar, other than the obvious (that it’s a woodwind and guitar is a string) the learning curve is different for both instruments. For me learning the saxophone was quicker than learning guitar, but gets harder and harder as you advance.
However, with guitar i found it was difficult for me to start and get the basics down, only when i did everything became much easier. Also, you can get lucky with the saxophone, by pushing down a key and praying to hit the right one. Although with guitar you have to be spot on and do everything perfectly, just to play one note/chord.
I enjoy both instruments equally, because both offer different challenges and thrills and i wouldn’t stop playing one over another. Here is a little bit of saxophone.
Until later,

For a quick little post today I’m going to post a few of my favorite T.V shows.
So here they are;
1. The Simpsons
2. Mythbusters
3. Scrubs
4. The Daily Show
5. Spongebob Squarepants
I don’t watch alot of T.V, I’m usually either working, practicing on my instruments, or on the computer, but when i do i like to watch these shows.
Thats all,

Well hello, hello, and hello everyone! Today this post is going to be about something called “Aikido”. Aikido is a Japanese martial art that i have been training under for about 6 years. This morning, while the remnants of Hurricane Hanna made everything wet, i went to my dojo to start my 7th year.
Aikido is as much mental as physical, to accomplish some of the moves you need to put your self in a certain mind-set. It is a defensive art, and very different than say…karate. In Aikido the entire idea is for you to learn not to fight. Also, Aikido uses elements of Judo, to throw opponents.
Over the past 6 years Aikido has really become part of my life, i now take the “teens” class, a more senior class where i’m actually now learning how to defend myself.
Heres a clip of Aikido.
Enjoy,
~Sam

Whoa, i just noticed that i have 30plus new views from all over the place! Anyway I’m just going to give a quick summary of this blog to any new readers. I got this blog almost exactly a year ago, when i was in 8th grade. My teacher, mrmayo, gave our classes these edublogs, for us to write on. Throughout the year i wrote on a wide range of topics, then when the year ended i was given the option to keep my blog. I chose this, and virtually forgot about it over this past summer. Then nearing the end of the school year i came back from my numerous vacations and decided to start posting again.
So, i decided to write about whatever i felt like in this blog, so far i’ve wrote mainly about going into high school, but the topics will really be decided to whatever events happen to me that day or that week. Also, whenever i can I’ll include a little something in ever post, whether its a song, picture, or video, to make the post more interesting. I’m going through Changes, and you’ll be the first ones to hear about them.
Until Next Time,
~Sam

Well thanks all whoever commented so far, it’s hard for me to talk to commentators directly but I’ll do my best.
First: Thanks for the comments Lindsea, and if you don’t mind me asking, whats a “last.fm account”?
Also Thanks to mrmayo and to Susan for my first comments.
Heres a personal favorite of mine to end the night.
It’s The only One You’ve Got By 3 Doors Down
I like this song because it kinda explains my personality, i can sometimes be to cautious, this song basically is the song in my head whenever i do something i’m not used to, or thats a little outside of my box.
Anyhoo,

As my old teacher, mrmayo, has just informed me my comment options were a wee bit screwy, i have just fixed them so now hopefully people can comment on my blog. And just a litte note; mrmayo is still looking out for me, even though i’m not in his class and we haven’t spoken face to face for 3 months now, he still found this problem and then found a solution to fix it. Thanks abunch mrmayo, and here’s another one of my favorite songs: Photograph by Weezer.
