Well over the past week or so i got an interview with a reporter, and am trying to get another right now. For the interview i owe all of the credit to my old teacher mrmayo. He found out about this one reporter, that works for a site and magazine called Edutopia. And then i contacted the reporter through email and scheduled an interview. Then it was just a simple matter of conducting the interview…..and there yah go.

Secondly I’m hoping to get another interview, again mrmayo found out about this, with another reporter for a magazine called Converge Magazine. And i have contacted the reporter through email and am currently waiting to set a date.

The whole point of these interviews are to see what student bloggers (like me) think about things in general. In my first interview i was asked about why did i start my blog, and how do i learn. It seems that quite a few people are interested in this, which i find kind of funny, because i just do this for fun.

Anyway, heres a song: 3AM by Matchbox Twenty

Enjoy,

On Saturday, a kid my age was shot and killed. This kid goes to my high school, and will never live to see past 14. The reason for his death? No reason.

This post is about an incident that happened on Saturday, during my vacation in Cape Cod. I didn’t know this guy. I had friends who did.

I have very limited information, but i can tell you this; the death was in vain. The victim was riding a bus with his brother. When the bus stopped at a stop the shooter opened the door and opened fire. Killing the victim and injuring two others putting them in hospitals. I have no right to speculate on this incident, i have little information and did not know the victim personally. But i can ask this question, In what kind of world would a person kill another human being, out of pure senseless violence?

All i can say is that i grieve for the victim and his family and friends, and i hope that the shooter is found and put to justice.

No song today.

Contrary to what i was told and what the entire freshman class knew this week is the “official” freshman hell week…the irony? It’s also school “spirit” week.

Fun.

Anyhoo, from Thursday of today to Friday of next week should be interesting. This brings me to my second topic, Halloween! First off happy Halloween to anyone reading this, and i sincerely hope you don’t get any candy corn laced with cyanide in it.

I hope i don’t either. Cyanide can be a real bummer.

Another is that i’m not going to be around for Halloween, which brings us to our third topic.

This year for Halloween my and the family are headed up to Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We are gonna be seeing some other family members and just generally enjoying ourselves. So for the next 5 or 6 days i won’t be blogging on account of no laptop, and I’ll talk (type?) to all readers when i return. Personally i think i need a vacation. I’ve been Hangin’ Around here for to long.

~S__A__M

*** Hangin Around by Counting Crows; one of my absolute favorite CC songs, its most definitely in my top 5.

On Sunday the Redskins played the Browns. And there i was serving crappy food to drunk guys. It was actually pretty fun.

Let me back up, at my school the band raises money by getting a booth at FedEx field and then sending volunteers to man it whenever its a home game. So, on Sunday i went to the game with a friend and we went to help out. When we first got there we had to enter through a sub-level laundry room, then we got these really attractive burgundy jerseys, and then we took a giant service elevator up to the sixth floor.

When we got to our booth we had the tour, basically, it was a kitchen in the back, and a open space with a long counter that separated the booths workers from the masses. After seeing what was what we got our “training” which was just learning how to use the registers and how to poor fake cheese into cups for nachos. After that we were about ready to start.

When the game started we all got to our respective positions, me and my friend where working a register and the people started to trickle in. The first few customers were the unlucky ones, because they were our guinea pigs, thankfully everyone was pretty understanding that say, we couldn’t pour sodas into cups, or that we had trouble getting pretzels out of the warmer. After the first few everyone started to catch on and from there everything started to get a little tricky.

Once the game started and the majority of the crowd had gotten their food we got a little break but as soon as halftime came it started to get crazy. All the beer we had sold in the beginning had started to set in to our customers…..lots of drunken folk.
Anyways at halftime all these people wanted food so we had a good 100 to 200 people crowding around or booth. The 30 minutes of halftime actually went pretty fast, probably because i was rushing and working so fast. But we made it through halftime ok.

Then after halftime the third quarter rolled around, and that was when so people, in theory, could drive home sober. I’m not sure that worked out so well, because right before the third quarter everybody came running to buy as much beer as possible, and once we couldn’t sell anymore this lead to quite a few peeved drunk guys.

After that everything was easy, the game finished up, the Skins won, (go skins!!) and all the people went to their cars, to “drive” home “safety”. And that meant it was cleanup time, which i suppose went pretty well, and then it was time for us to go home. We left the game at around 10:00, and were home by around 11:00, which meant i went to bed at around 11:30, only to wake up at 6 the next morning, bright and early, ready for school.

Thats all for now,

Heres a song, A Long December By Counting Crows

Hello all, today my post is about a fun little test called the PSAT. First off, for those of you that don’t know the SAT is a devilishly hard HS test that Juniors and Seniors take. Today the freshman class was luck enough to take a Pre-SAT, or PSAT, and it wasn’t that easy.

In total the test was about three and a half hours long, and we only had a five minute break.Which was nice because three hours of anything can get boring if you don’t get a break.

Anyhoo, i was taking my test in an art room, so their wasn’t any chairs, and we had these really short stools to sit on. But even that wasn’t that bad, what was really killer is that i hadn’t learned half the stuff on this test, most of the English and vocab section was stuff from English 5 and 6, (I’m in English 4) and the Math was all from classes that I’ll be taking next year.

Oh and we couldn’t use calculators.

Good thing it wasn’t graded.

Here is a song:

This is a band from the ’90s, still putting out CD’s today. Most of their music is played on acoustic-electric guitars, which makes it softer and each note more pronounced than when played on a regular electric guitar. In a previous post i shared the song “Mr. Jones” which is one of their hits, and one of my favorite ones that they do. Another hit that most people know is a little song called “Accidentally in Love”.

Anyway, i highly recommend that anyone reading this should look into the band because its definitely up there in my top 10 bands.
